"The Newsroom" is a very simplified desktop publishing program aimed at novices and children. It uses a simplified step-by-step interface similar to the original "The Print Shop", and bundles a variety of fun clipart images.
The Newsroom is designed to work on minimal hardware. It only requires a PC or PCJr with one floppy drive, CGA, and 128K of ram. Additionally, there were versions for the Apple II, and Commodore 64.
It also includes a unique communications feature that lets you easily transfer documents between any two instances of The Newsroom, even between the IBM/Apple/C64 platforms.
This version requires a PC, XT, AT, Tandy or compatible with 512K ram, DOS 2.0 or higher. Hard disk, mouse (limited to serial only), joystick, and modem are optional.
The 1989 Pro version includes mouse support, and additional clipart.
This version is NOT copy protected.
