This is the original standalone Microsoft C/C++ compiler for DOS and Windows - Later versions were rebranded and renumbered as Microsoft Visual C++ and were bundled with Visual Studio or the SDKs.

Release notes
This is the first fully Microsoft developed version. It was designed to be compatible with K&R C, supports Intel 186 and 286 code generation and floating-point emulation. Includes standard C headers. Sdded EXEMOD and EXEPACK, dropped OMD. Microsoft used early internal versions for Xenix and early Windows development prior to release in 1985.
Version 3 was rebranded and published by IBM as IBM C Compiler 1.00
