Memory Shift 2.0

Memory Shift is a very early task switching program for DOS. It operates by "partitioning" the computer's memory and loading different applications in to each partition. It can then switch between each application and share data between applications.

Programs running under Memory Shift can make use of multiple monitors. An IBM PC equipped with both an MDA and CGA card can display one task on each monitor.

This program is said to have been inspired by the Apple Lisa's ability to load multiple applications in to memory and switch between them.

Note that this is not a multitasking program. While you can switch between two applications, they do not execute simultaneously.

Important: This software contains copy protection, and no unprotect is known to exist. To make a usable disk image, you must use the included SuperCard Pro image.

This software has been tested to run in the PCE emulator.

Note: This disk is formatted for DOS 1.x and may not open in tools like WinImage.

Protection type: Intentionally bad sector CRC on track 3 head 0, track 5 head zero, track 7 head 0, and track 0, head 1 (even though this is a single sided disk). There is also an extra formatted track at track 40 head 0.

Archive includes one 5.25" 160k floppy disk image in SuperCard Pro format.
