Easy Writer (1982) 1 Word Processor DOS

Easy Writer was one of the first word processors for the IBM PC. It was originally written by John Draper AKA "Captain Crunch", with the PC version published by IBM. EasyWriter 1.x was written in the FORTH programming language and, as the story goes, it was ported to the IBM PC in a matter of days. There was also an Apple II version.

VisiWord is a solid and well designed word processor for the IBM PC from VisiCorp. It was part of VisiCorp's integrated office application suite that also included VisiCalc, VisiFile, VisiSpell, VisiTrend/Plot, VisiSchedule and VisiTutor. Words and Figures is a Lotus 1-2-3 1A compatible spreadsheet clone that includes a word processor. Its primary feature is that it can share "live" data between an open spreadsheet and a document. IBM DisplayWrite Assistant (1987) 0 Word Processor DOS

IBM DisplayWrite Assistant is a higher end word processor that has a user interface similar to IBM Writing Assistant, but has advanced features from IBM DisplayWrite. It can exchange information between other IBM Assistant series programs as well as DisplayWrite and IBM's mini/mainframe products. This was intended to bridge the gap with their entry level "Assistant" product line. Like DisplayWrite, it supported only a tiny handful of IBM printers.
