Microsoft Flight Simulator 5.x

Flight Simulator is simulation "game" in which you pilot an airplane around the world. It started off as subLOGIC Flight Simulator on the Apple II, but was OEMed by Microsoft for the IBM PC. It was very popular, and one of few early games to provide a "3d" experience.

Release notes

5.1 is the last version of Flight Simulator to run on DOS. Was compatible with the scenery expansion packs made available for the prior version (5.0). The CD also contains the New York and Paris scenery packs as a bonus. Requires MS-DOS 5.0 or equivalent.

Installation instructions

For 5.0: From Disk 1, run setup.exe. For 5.1: From the CD run setup.com. Run setup.exe from the NEWYORK and PARIS directories to install the bonus scenery packs.
