VisiSpell is a standalone spell checker for DOS, that is intended for use with VisiCorp VisiWord but can be used with any text document. Targeted at business users, it contains a dictionary of over 100,000 words, supports a user customizable dictionary, and can remember your typing habits when suggesting replacements.
It was part of VisiCorp's integrated office application suite that also included VisiCalc, VisiWord, VisiFile, VisiTrend/Plot, VisiSchedule and VisiTutor.
This archive contains two 160k disk images in copy II PC and Transcopy formats.
IMPORTANT: This software contains copy protection, and no known unprotect exists. To recreate usable disks you must use CopyIIPC with Snatchit, Transcopy, a Kryoflux, or a SuperCard Pro. Imagedisk or Teledisk will not create usable disk images.
If the disks are not created properly, the program will fail when beginning to proof a document.
It also protects itself when installed to a hard drive, so files can not successfully be copied out or moved.
Because of the copy protection, the only emulator that will run this application is PCE.
Also note that the disk images are formatted for DOS 1.x and can not be opened by utilities like WinImage.
The DS version contains a 320K Double Sided media version.
